mAb specific to the flesh-eating Mucorales fungi, Apophysomyces. These pathogenic moulds are responsible for necrotising skin and soft tissue infections of immunocompetent individuals with penetrating traumas and burns following natural disasters such as tornadoes and tsunamis, and following combat-related blast injuries. Apophysomyces species are also responsible alongside other Mucorales fungi for the debilitating disease rhino-orbital-cerebral mucormycosis.
